The Harvard School of Public Health released a research report on e-cigarettes. The Harvard University research team selected 37 disposable cartridges and 38 e-cigarette liquid products for testing from the top ten best-selling e-cigarette brands in the United States in 2013.

They found that 23% of the products contained trace amounts of endotoxin; 81% of the products contained trace amounts of glucan, which is present in the cell walls of most fungi.

The report of the study was published in the American authoritative professional journal "Environment and Health Outlook". While receiving the attention of domestic and foreign media, netizens once again attracted debates about the harm of electronic cigarettes and traditional cigarettes.

The report released by Harvard University was questioned by the American Electronic Cigarette Association. Gregory Conley, chairman of the Advocacy Group of the American Electronic Cigarette Association, said that this study should compare the levels of toxins in e-cigarettes and cigarettes.

He said in a statement in "USA Today": "Given that many adult smokers now mistakenly believe that smoking e-cigarettes is as dangerous as smoking cigarettes, it is impossible to publish this study until a full comparison with cigarettes is made. Glorious."

Regal Conley also pointed out that the study focused on the top-selling brands in 2013, not the current brands, and the report did not indicate the names of the products and brands.
