Two men have been charged after authorities seized more than $1 million worth of illegal e-cigarettes in Australia's south-east of Melbourne.
According to police, officers patrolling in Dingley spotted two men acting suspiciously in front of a truck in the Boundary Road car park at about 5.30pm on September 2. They found a large quantity of e-cigarettes.
The men allegedly told police different stories of what they were doing before they agreed to search the truck.
Inside, police found approximately 907,000 illegal cigarettes worth an estimated $1,026,000.
Two men, 40, from Mitcham and a 32-year-old man from Hurstville, NSW, were both arrested.
They were later charged with negligent handling of criminal proceeds and possession of tobacco products to defraud federal revenue.
The pair have been bailed to appear at Moorabbin Local Court in November.
