A lawmaker in the United Kingdom will introduce a bill to parliament next week aimed at banning the sale of disposable e-cigarettes and vaping.
Johnson, who is an NHS children's doctor and a member of parliament's select committee on health and social care, will highlight in her 10-minute rule bill on Wednesday the positive impact a potential ban on single-use e-cigarettes and vaping could have on the country.
"Reusable e-cigarettes and e-cigarettes remain important aids in quitting smoking, but I worry that their brightly colored, kid-friendly disposables are luring non-smokers into a life of addiction, potentially creating a new generation of nicotine Addicts," Johnson said.
"I look forward to introducing my bill to Parliament as soon as possible and highlighting the impact of single-use e-cigarettes and vaping on our nation's health and natural environment."
The Scottish Government has formally commissioned an urgent review into the environmental impact and regulation of disposable e-cigarettes.
The review, which comes in response to emerging concerns about the negative impact of disposable vaping devices, will inform potential policy responses, which could include a ban on the product.
