Public Health Minister Neil O'Brien is reportedly planning to gather evidence to justify a ban on e-cigarettes such as Elf Bars, which taste like candy and fruit.

While health bosses still support the use of e-cigarettes to help adult smokers quit, there are concerns that fruit-flavored e-cigarettes, which are associated with soda, could target children.

The government will examine the appearance and characteristics of vaping products, including marketing and branding, as well as available flavors. The review will also consider how the product will be advertised on social media.
