A recent investigation by Luton's Trading Standards in the UK has seized around 1,700 illegal disposable vaping pens and almost 1,000 packs of illegal and counterfeit cigarettes, worth an estimated £21,000, the BBC reported.
It found the items, along with packets of shisha, heated tobacco and counterfeit roll-your-own tobacco, during a routine inspection of a property on Luton Marsh Road.
It has launched a crackdown on people selling illegal e-cigarettes and tobacco, with 12,500 items seized so far.
Maria Lovell, from Luton Borough Council, said: "It is very worrying that shopkeepers are exploiting young people and adults in our town.
The seizures were made by Trading Standards officers during an inspection of a number of premises in Luton on June 1.
The council said it would engage the property's landlord, and similar action at six other venues resulted in lease terminations.
