The Environmental Health Service of the Health Care Executive and the National Tobacco Control Office have submitted an alert to the European Security Portal, the EU's rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products, the first the Environmental Health Service has submitted to the EU in recent weeks. Two alarms.

Dr Maurice Mulcahy, HSE Regional Chief Environmental Health Officer, said: "I must remind manufacturers and importers of e-cigarettes and liquids that they have a responsibility to ensure they are fully compliant with all legislative requirements."

Anyone who has purchased these products is advised to discontinue use and return them to the store of purchase. Retailers have been directed to post recall notices in-store and online, including on retail websites and social media. Stores are also required to provide the Health Care Executive with details about the traceability of the suppliers of the relevant products.

Dr Maurice Mulcahy reminded manufacturers and importers of their statutory obligation "to give the Health Care Executive adequate advance notice of their intention to place products on the Irish market through the European Common Entry Portal". "In addition, they are reminded that they bear responsibility for the quality and safety of their products when they are placed on the market and used under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions."

McKesse did not immediately respond to a request for comment, according to the report.

Two Supremes learned from the enterprise information query platform that McKesse comes from Max (Shenzhen) Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.
