According to the official website of the Krasnodar Municipal Government in Russia on August 9th, the authorities in Krasnodar will crack down on the illegal sales of cigarettes and e-cigarettes, and carry out actions to crack down on water absorbing cigarettes in restaurants. This was proposed by Roman Kuriniy, head of the Consumer Services and Alcohol Market Regulation Department in Krasnodar Border Region, and Mayor Evgen Kuriniy at a trade research working group meeting.
Kulini pointed out that recently, there has been an increase in the unrestricted use of water absorbing cigarettes, and relevant government departments often receive inquiries from local residents about the potential health risks that smoking hookah activities may pose. He believes that the government should increase efforts to prevent public catering facilities from violating federal legislation.
The focus of the crackdown will also be on non fixed trade targets. According to the law, it is prohibited to sell traditional cigarettes and e-cigarettes in non fixed trading objects.
Nomov stated that the government's position is clear and must protect children from harm. As for adults, hookah can still be bought in coffee shops and restaurants.
