According to Chinese customs data, two top statistics have been conducted on China's export of e-cigarettes to the United States in the first half of 2023.

According to statistics, from January to June 2023, China's e-cigarette exports to the United States amounted to 1.489 billion US dollars, accounting for 48.20% of last year's total exports, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%, and accounting for 27.15% of China's total exports.

During the same period, the total weight of e-cigarettes exported was approximately 30700 tons, equivalent to 55.2% of the total export volume in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 17.77%, accounting for 29.48% of China's total export volume.

Among them, the export value and volume of e-cigarettes in April were the highest in the first half of the year, with 307 million US dollars and 6319.47 tons respectively.

Data shows that China's e-cigarette exports to the United States from January to March this year fluctuated significantly compared to the previous year, while April to June remained relatively stable compared to the previous year.

However, unlike the trend in export volume, from February to June, China's e-cigarette exports to the United States maintained a growth rate of about 30% compared to the same period.

From the perspective of product categories, between January and June 2023, China's export value of disposable e-cigarettes to the United States reached 1.1 billion US dollars, accounting for about 74% of China's total export value of e-cigarettes to the United States, with an average monthly export value of approximately 183 million US dollars.

The export value of other e-cigarette products (mainly cartridge swappable and open) is 389 million US dollars, with an average monthly export value of approximately 65 million US dollars.

From the perspective of export unit price, in the first half of 2023, the export unit price of Chinese e-cigarettes was approximately 62.52 US dollars per kilogram. Among them, the average export unit price of disposable e-cigarettes is $42.54 per kilogram, while the average export unit price of other e-cigarette products (open and cartridge swappable) is $82.49 per kilogram.

During the period from January to June, the average price of disposable e-cigarettes reached its peak in January, with an average price of $45.84 per kilogram; In June, it reached its lowest point at $39.18 per kilogram, and the price of disposable e-cigarettes continued to slowly decline.

Other e-cigarette products (open, cartridge swappable) had the highest average price in March at $88.24, while the lowest price was in February at $74.46 per kilogram.
