According to sinarharian reports, e-cigarette dealers in Johor, Malaysia, will face penalties from the local government (PBT) if they are found to be selling e-cigarettes openly.
According to Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor, director of the Johor Housing and Local Government Executive Committee, the measure will be launched immediately once complaints are received from the public about the open and aggressive sale of e-cigarettes.
“Basically, Johor is one of the two states that bans the public sale of e-cigarettes, but we will not enforce aggressively because we are more concerned about foreign traders. But at the Johor level, we still ban the public sale of e-cigarettes. We They are advised to comply with state government regulations and if there are complaints from the community we will take action."
It is reported that this e-cigarette ban was promulgated by the then Sudanese Ibrahim Iskandar in January 2016 and was strictly implemented. Today, this legal provision is still implemented in Johor.
Mohammad reminded all e-cigarette dealers to comply with the issued ban and avoid unnecessary legal issues arising from prohibited sales.
