Recently, Two Supremes discovered on the official website of British American Tobacco's e-cigarette brand VUSE that the brand has launched a disposable e-cigarette that can be used for 8,000 puffs - VUSE GO EDITION 8000 - in the Canadian market.

According to public information, VUSE GO EDITION 8000 is equipped with 15 ml of e-liquid, which can provide 8,000 puffs. VUSE claims that this is its largest puff-capacity disposable e-cigarette to date. It is reported that this disposable e-cigarette uses a ceramic core atomizer.
In addition, VUSE GO EDITION 8000 has a built-in 560mAh rechargeable battery and USB-C charging port. It adopts a transparent oil tank design so that users can monitor the remaining amount of e-liquid. Its nicotine content is 1.8%, and it currently offers 10 flavors to choose from, priced at CAD$29.99 (approximately US$22).
VUSE has released four disposable e-cigarettes with different puff sizes in Canada, namely VUSE GO800, VUSE GOxl, VUSE GOEdition 5000 and the latest VUSE GOEDITION 8000, with a price range of 10.99-29.99 Canadian dollars.
VUSE, an e-cigarette brand affiliated with Reynolds Tobacco Company, was launched in the UK in 2013. As of the end of 2023, the brand has expanded to more than 59 countries around the world.
As British American Tobacco accelerates its transformation into new tobacco, new products such as VUSE have received more resource support from the company. According to the 2023 financial report released by BAT, the sales of VUSE and Velo drove the revenue growth of new categories (including atomization, heat-not-burn and oral products), which was achieved two years ahead of schedule, and the increase in group profit was 3.98% billion; the market share of e-cigarette brand VUSE increased by 100 basis points, reaching 36.8% in the main market. BAT said the products "delivered strong revenue growth driven by increased consumer purchases in the regions where they were launched."
According to Nielsen convenience store data, VUSE's market share in the United States has gradually increased from 42% to 42.2%; while the market share of second-ranked JUUL remained unchanged at 24.2%.
Two Supremes noticed that British American Tobacco has promoted the launch of products in different markets at a faster pace in the past year.
In July 2023, it announced the official launch of its atomized e-cigarette brand VUSE in South Korea; in May 2024, it decided to promote and sell its atomized e-cigarette "VUSE GO 800" nationwide in South Korea.
In September 2023, VUSE Pro, which can take 5,000 puffs, VUSE Go 1500, which can take 1,500 puffs, and VUSE Go 600, which can take 600 puffs, were launched in the Russian market.
In August 2023, after the Malaysian government legalized liquid nicotine, the disposable e-cigarette VUSE GO 1500 was launched; on October 30, the disposable e-cigarette VUSE GO 3000 with 3,000 puffs was launched.
On August 21, 2023, the zero-nicotine e-cigarette VUSE GO 700 was launched in Japan; on December 8, 2023, British American Tobacco Japan has promoted its zero-nicotine atomization product "VUSE GO700" to convenience stores.
On November 23, 2023, VUSE launched the large-volume disposable products "VUSE GO 5000" and "VUSE GO 6000" in the Middle East market.
On December 28, 2023, VUSE opened its first e-cigarette experience area in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia.
On April 18, 2024, British American Tobacco’s e-cigarette brand VUSE Go entered the West Indies market and was included in its list of sales products in the Caribbean island country of Trinidad and Tobago.
Judging from the regions where new products have been released in the past year, British American Tobacco has attempted to further develop the disposable e-cigarette market, mainly in Asia, demonstrating its strategic emphasis on the regional market and its vision for continuous expansion.
For example, it has vigorously promoted atomized products in the Korean market where atomized e-cigarettes do not dominate. Kim Eun-ji, CEO of British American Tobacco Korea (BAT), said that its goal is to promote the adoption of alternative tobacco products. Development, compared with the past when we only sold cigarettes, in the process of transforming from a single category to multiple categories, changes in business and operational directions are imperative.
"VUSE has proven its competitiveness in the US market, so it should be able to shake up the current rules of the game." Kim Eun-ji said.
According to analysts in the Korean tobacco industry, although the atomized e-cigarette market in South Korea may be relatively small, as the global e-cigarette market continues to expand, the Korean market may have growth potential. British American Tobacco may want to enter the market early to capture market share and build brand loyalty.
