The Gibraltar Department of Public Health is conducting a survey to assess how many children in local secondary schools use e-cigarettes.
Parents will be notified of the investigation electronically or by letter, the Department of Public Health said.
Students will be able to access the survey via a QR code provided to them, and parents will have the opportunity to review the questions before the survey begins.
The survey is completely confidential and the information collected will be anonymous and will not identify respondents.
"These data will be used to assess levels of vaping use among target age groups, and I want to reassure participating parents and children that we were unable to identify who answered the questions, so there will be no repercussions for anyone." Public Health director Dr Helen Carter said.
The survey opens today and runs through December 22.
