Smokers and vapers in Georgia may have to pay more, thanks to two bills passed by the state legislature.
This week, House subcommittees held their first hearings on House Bill 191 and House Bill 192.
The bill would raise taxes on cigarettes and vaping products.
HB 191 would raise taxes on cigarettes by at least $1 per pack.
Currently, taxes are 37 cents, well below the national average of $1.72.
