According to In Cyrus, the Cyprus government will take measures to ban the sale of seasoning heating non combustible products (HTP).
Heating non combustible products that are allowed to continue to be sold in the market will require special warning labels and images to be affixed to their packaging to ensure consistency with traditional cigarette packaging.
The purpose of these changes is to coordinate national laws with European directives.
The government has decided to extend the ban on the sale of tobacco products with characteristic aroma/flavor or containing aromatic substances, as well as on heated tobacco products. It has also decided to add verbal warnings/notices on the packaging of heated tobacco products regarding the harmful effects of smoking on health. These warnings will be accompanied by deterrent images.
Health Minister Popi Kanari stated: "In the 2017 Tobacco Control Act, these products were exempted and the sale of traditional cigarettes and cigar cigarettes containing aromatic substances was prohibited." "Through these regulatory amendments, in addition to traditional cigarettes and cigar cigarettes, the sale of any heated tobacco products containing aromatic substances was also prohibited
Kanari said, "These amendments do not apply to e-cigarette products containing tobacco oil, but only to the category of heated tobacco products that contain aromatic substances
