According to Meduza media on September 27th, Anton Alikhanov, the governor of Kaliningrad Oblast in Russia, proposed a comprehensive ban on e-cigarettes.
Governor Alihanov posted on his Telegram channel stating, "The idea is not profound, but it is very clear that banning e-cigarettes is thorough, permanent, and complete. Advertising and its promotion are only aimed at children, which is obvious. The ban on children's sales (e-cigarettes) does not work, so it needs to be completely prohibited
On February 9th, Alihanov proposed the idea of completely banning e-cigarettes. At that time, he claimed that due to the presence of electronic cigarettes, the school had recorded cases of poisoning and fainting.
Starting from September 1st, Russia should have set the minimum prices for e-cigarettes and e-cigarette oil. The government plans to determine prices (although this has not yet been achieved, corresponding regulations are expected to be introduced). In addition, the Russian government also plans to approve a list of ingredients and flavor additives that can exacerbate nicotine dependence in the production of e-cigarettes, and products containing these ingredients will not be produced.
