According to published data, Philip Morris International will spend more than 99% of its investment on research and development of non-combustible products in 2022. In the past 15 years, Philip Morris International has invested more than US$10 billion in the production and marketing of smoke-free products, and has continued to innovate. At present, more than 900 R&D personnel from 40 different countries and experts in about 30 scientific and engineering disciplines are working on the research and development of new products, and the R&D expenses are equivalent to about 35.4% of PMI's net income in the second quarter of 2023.
